The culinary artisan behind GingerKakes is Jill Marlin. Jill has been baking since the age of nine and has produced dairy-free goods for over twenty years.
She started perfecting her talent for dairy-free baking because of her family's allergy to dairy products. “Dairy free baking started with my son, John Andrew,” explains Jill, “he was born with a milk allergy. Five years later my husband developed an allergy to milk and my daughter is lactose intolerant.”. Jill is also much of a philanthropist and has chosen to share her abilities to help others with intolerances or allergies to enjoy the sweet diversions the rest of us do. When asked about GingerKakes conception she explained: “I started GingerKakes in November of 2011 after constant urging from my daughter and her boyfriend. I had the application for a DBA filled out and sitting on my desk. It just needed it to be notarized and filed. I was sitting on the fence.” Jill continued: “One day I was on a website that offered free business cards. They let you create your own, so I was just playing around seeing what I could come up with. While looking through the different fonts they have available I stumbled upon one named 'John Andrew'. The next day I filed my DBA.” |
